Many of us have had a family member or live with the terrible disease
This is a tribute to the hundreds of thousands of people currently suffering from this disease, their families, entities that support the patient and their families, and occupational therapists who try to slow the progression of disease patients who are fortunate enough to receive this service. And currently there are roughly about 600,000 Alzheimer's patients, not counting the thousands of people dying each year.
two therapists know wonderful, well educated and with a strong sense of humanity.
Times have changed. My immediate family and with whom I lived for many years suffered the disease for at least eight or nine years. Were other times, they had almost no resources, minimal support and a lot of ignorance. But do not want to talk about my suffering, but of them, the sadness that causes me to see how they lose the memories, history, experiences and fade away gradually.
work in a health center and of patients with Alzheimer's, and it breaks my heart to see how they forget their names, their past, a sense of direction, etc. .. So I can not ignore the name of such associations, foundations, health centers and their professionals, particularly occupational therapists, social workers and all those who contribute their knowledge and guide and listen to the family.
Here I talk about some of the web pages, emails and facebook groups that support, guide and work with Alzheimer's disease.
